Blog Review: Bob’sDailyBlog
March 14th, 2008.
Ammo Bob is ex-military, with strong political views. He says it like it is.
His blog, Bob’s Daily Blog, is straight-laced too.

No Camouflage
There are no colorful pictures, fancy headers, niceties nor doilies.
Who is Bob’s target?
The person interested in his thoughts will also return for the clean crew-cut layout.
And in that sense, his blog is spot-on-the-mark.

So how does the blog misfire?
The header has an animated and dynamic logo. However, the black logo does not sit well on the light blue background.
This is easily fixed.
Simply change the background to match the logo background. Here’s how to do it.

Help us scout the terrain?
Bob’s blog navigation is difficult to find.
Western eyes are trained to read from left to right. And so, navigation is best placed horizontally near the top of the window.
It is also worthwhile to use a bigger font-size, different font color or a bold weight.
To do this, access your.css file.
In your blog navigation div (it will be named something like #nav):
- locate “font-size” and increase the number
- locate “color” and change it to something noticeable
- paste “font-weight:bold;”
You can find an excellent RGB and HEX color calculator here.

And then, some of the clutter in the side columns could be removed.
Many people feel a need to fit as much as they can into one space.
White or empty spaces are okay.
Hope that help, Bob.
Love, Lilly
