Bloggers Bloat: Another 8 Ways to Avoid it
September 18th, 2008.
After my last article about the dreaded Bloggers Bloat, I received these suggestions from bloggers who’ve also battled the bloat and come out on top.
1. Walk the talk. If your mobile rings, get up and stroll around while you’re chatting. Walking an extra 20 minutes a day at a moderate pace could help you drop 3 pounds a year.
2. White is evil. Stay away from white foods - potatoes, breads, etc - which tend to be high-calories.
3. But white yoghurt is good. Eating yoghurt 3 times a day, revs your metabolism and dairy has a nifty habit of making us feel full. (Personally I’d stay away from other dairy products, but this is an issue for another post.)
4. In the chilly weather, bloggers may not feel like drinking cold water. Your body still needs liquids. Try sipping hot water with lemon, it really is tasty and will leave you feeling fresher than coffee (with less of a runny tummy too).
5. Be an immature blogger. Simply playing with kids or like kids can burn calories. Try wrestling your lover to the ground for a start.
6. Mmm, M&Ms. These are actually a great snack. With a simple coating of choc, the rest is all healthy peanut. But remember: everything is moderation, we’re talking a handful of M&Ms!
7. Take a break from blogging. Try to take a lunch break everyday, get wrapped up warm, and go outside for a walk. Not only will it keep the weight off, it will reintroduce you to living and provide you with content for blogging about.
8. Brush your teeth. Seriously. Research has shown that it acts like a trigger to signal that you’ve eaten sufficient.
