Blogging at new heights

Hi all,

It’s a delight to guest blog for the female blogging community.

I hope I can help you take your blogging to new levels.

A quick introduction: I am currently a relationship columnist for Search Warp and problogger for Pro Blogs, and of course I write my own blogs (see my homepage, Creative Blogger).

I also have an eBook in the pipelines - the transition from blogger to eBook author is only natural.

I started blogging after a divorce when I needed to fill those lonely evenings. I began with MySpace.

At first I ranted, which is surprisingly popular.

So that’s your first top-tip: Do not be shy of controversy. The more controversial, the better the traffic and the more returning visitors you attract!

Then I moved to philosophizing.

This was also fairly popular. With people subscribing to my blog, I was really inspired to do more.

I quickly became blogging bonkers!

I created niche blogs in many areas - though now, due to time constraints, it’s dwindled to 6.

I learned a great deal in my travels of blogging…

Here are a few of my top-tips:

1. Write great content – by speaking from your heart. Don’t try to be anyone else and tell it how you feel it. People really identify with reality, with pain and with fun. Make your readers laugh and make them cry!

2. Snappy titles jump off pages. Be creative and sauce up titles a bit. Check out X-Posed Secrets of the Sexes blog for titles that make your eyes water.

3. Join a blogging community or four! Become a regular face on the scene and contribute.

4. Submit your best blog posts to article sites. And include a blog URL in your bio to increase exposure and draw traffic.

These tips helped me to be spotted and offered my problogger and columnist jobs.

Most of all blog for the pleasure and not for the profit. The profit will find it’s way to you with enough effort and hard work.
