Day 6: How to blog in 7 days

February 15th, 2008.

Blogging and living

Avoid Bloggers Block

If you blog daily, and you should do, it is difficult to keep a fresh tone with crisp ideas. Here is some inspiration…

There will be days when you are ill/love-sick/PMSing and your mind will go blank the minute you sit down at your computer to begin writing.

The good news is: there will be days when your mind will be a fountain of good ideas.

Make the most of those days.

Keep a Word document with a list of interesting titles and ideas for the less than brainy days.

It is also a good to read forums. This is a brilliant way to fish for new ideas and get people to visit your blog.

If you are still drawing a blank, answer one of these questions:

- Is artificial intelligence better the natural stupidity?

- Who is your scapegoat?

- Is plageriasm simply a time-saving tactic?

- Is faith a mirage?

Probably the best way to keep your inspiration levels topped up is: live life!

Experience things that you can tell other people about… So, lean over, turn off your computer and go outside. Then come back and write about what you saw, felt or smelt…

Tomorrow, Day 7 and the last day in this series, we will look at monitoring the success of your blog and checking on who’s visiting it.

Until then, happy smelling!

Love, me

P.S. Have a peak at Day 1: Starting your blog, Day 2: Design your blog, Day 3: Personalise your blog, Day 4: Feed your blog and Day 5: Write Snappy Blogs
